My second head tattoo. The other side is a heart the right way up. Got them at separate times a couple years ago. Now they’re hidden until i’m an old lady and my hair thins out.

This is called dermatographism. Or dermatographic urticaria. It is a type of allergy that about 4% of the population suffers from. It is caused by an inherited weakness in the cell membrane of the mast cell. The mast cell is one of the cells in the skin that is responsible for secreting histamine. Histamine causes localized swelling and congestion by dilating blood vessels and causing them to be more porous or leaky.
